Every session I take on is built around one idea. That there is a version of this season you will one day wish you could step back into. The baby that fits on your chest. The kid who still reaches for your hand. The whole loud, tender, fleeting thing you are living right now. That's really why I do any of this.
Because it's not about perfect outfits or perfect light, though those help. It's about the way your kid reaches for you without thinking. The sound of everyone laughing at once. The ordinary Tuesday that was actually everything.
Some things deserve to be kept.
I didn't set out to be a photographer. I spent years at a desk, doing the thing I was supposed to do, while quietly noticing all the moments happening around me that nobody was capturing. Eventually people started asking me to bring my camera. Then more people. Then more, and at some point it stopped making sense to do anything else.
Ten years later I'm based in Mobile, Alabama, photographing families, newborns, and the kind of in-between moments that are easy to let slip by. I'm a mom to three boys, which means I understand chaos, and I've learned that chaos is usually where the best pictures live.
My goal with every session is to make everyone forget there's a camera. I dance around, I crack jokes, I get on the floor with the kids. By the end it usually feels more like a good afternoon than a photoshoot.
